The transport strike will continue if demands of people concerned of transport sector are not realised, said Abdul Motaleb, additional general secretary of Truck Owners’ Association.

Abdul Motaleb came up with this information after a meeting with Home Minister Asaduzzaman Kamal at his Dhanmondi residence at noon today Saturday, reports our correspondent.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal will inform the decision on the demand of transport workers-owners after discussion with Prime Minsiter Sheikh Hasina, he said.

Abdul Motaleb said, “The home minister has assured us that the premier is now abroad. He (home minister) will talk to the Prime Minister and place a logical demand. After  then the home minister will sit in a meeting with us again this evening or tomorrow (Sunday) and decide again.”

Mentionable, the truck workers-owners sat in a meeting with home minister this noon and placed their demands regarding the recent fuel price hike.
