The court completed hearing of Naraji application (no confidence petition) filed by former Superintendent of Police (SP) Babul Akter against the charge-sheet submitted by Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) against him in connection with the murder of Mahmuda Khanam Mitu.

The hearing was held in the court of Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Mehnaz Rahman.

Babul Akter’s lawyer Sheikh Iftekhar Saimul Chowdhury filed the Naraji’s application on October 14. The order will be pronounced on November 3, he said.

According to the application, Babul has been victim of conspiracy in the murder case. He was plaintiff of the case. Babul pleaded not guilty to the murder of his wife Mitu.

On June 5, 2016, Mitu was stabbed and shot dead while she was taking her son to his school at the port city’s GEC intersection.
