Badrunnessa College teacher held for spreading rumors on Facebook

A female teacher of Begum Badrunnessa Government Girls’ College in the capital has been detained for allegedly spreading rumors on social media Facebook.

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained Ruma Sarker, an assistant professor of the college, from her Bailey Road home in the capital on Wednesday morning.

Director of RAB’s Legal and Media Wing Commander Khandaker Al Moin confirmed the matter to media.

The RAB official said Ruma Sarkar used the social media Facebook to spread religious incitement, lies and rumors.
