Mashrafee not thinking of retirement right now

Sports Desk: Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafee Bin Mortaza says he is yet to think about retirement from international cricket.

While talking to ESPNcricinfo, the right-arm pacer said that the ongoing World Cup in England and Wales will be his last. He, however, played down talks about his possible retirement after the event.

There were talks about Mashrafee’s retirement after the World Cup, but the skipper never cleared the air about it.

‘This is definitely my last World Cup, but I won’t be retiring after the tournament. I don’t want to think about it at the moment, especially with the tournament still in progress,’ Mashrafe told ESPNcricinfo.

At the same time, the most successful captain of Bangladesh said if the board gives him any instructions regarding his retirement he will give them a thought.

Bangladesh have been doing well in the World Cup. They have secured seven points from as many matches, and are strongly in the contention to achieve a semifinals berth.

The Tigers will take on India on July 2. After that, they will lock horns with Pakistan on July 5.
