Bangladesh national cricket team’s tour of Oman for a week-long preparation for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup came under serious doubt after all flights arriving and departing from Muscat International Airport have been cancelled and rescheduled due to Cyclone Shaheen.

The Tigers were scheduled to leave for Muscat tonight at 10:45pm but the severe weather condition in Oman has forced the postponement of their flight along with other flights.

“Dear traveller, we would like to inform you that all flights to and from Muscat International Airport have been postponed and rescheduled to a further notice to avoid any risk that may result from the direct impact of climate conditions on the Airport’s operations,” Oman Airport said in a statement on its verified Twitter account on Sunday.

The cyclone has already hit different parts of Oman. Authorities in the UAE have also announced precautionary measures and issued advisories for the residents for the cyclone.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board is expected to announce the remaining details about their tour at 05:30pm.

Earlier in the morning, BCB Chief Physician Debashish Chowdhury confirmed to The Daily Sun that all members of the team came out Covid-19 negative during their test on Saturday.
