Covid claimed lives of 43 more people and infected 1,383 others in Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Sunday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 27,225 and infections to 15,42,683 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The daily test positivity rate is 5.62 per cent.

Among the deceased, 22 are male and 21 are female patients.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 24,623 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 808 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 94,37,656 samples as of September 19.

In the past 24 hours, 2,887 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 15,01,541.

In case of the divisions, Dhaka logged the highest death toll of 19 and Chattogram logged eight deaths.
