Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque on Monday said that Bangladesh has set a target to vaccinate 7-8 crore people by next February.

He revealed the information while taking to journalist after a cabinet meeting this morning.

The minister said that some six million doses of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine will arrive in Dhaka in September under Covax facilities.

“The Pfizer vaccine is a special type of vaccine that needs to be stored at minus 90 degrees Celsius temperature”, he said.

Mentioning that no mass vaccination campaign will be held in near future, he urged everybody to be registered through Surokkha app and receive the jab.
