Bangladesh reported 60 more deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours till 8:00am on Wednesday, taking the tally to 13,282.

Besides, 3,956 people have newly been infected with the virus in the same period. The total number of Covid-19 cases stood at 837,247.

The positivity rate stood at 16.62% on Wednesday while the total fatality rate stood at 1.59%, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services.

A total of 23,807 samples were tested in over 500 labs across the country in 24 hours (till 8am today).

At least 2,679 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 7,73,752 and the recovery rate at 92.42 percent.

The country’s maiden cases were reported on 8 March last year and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.
