Heavy rains have lashed Dhaka and adjoining areas. And it has also reduced the heat continued for few days.

The rain began around 8:15 on Saturday. It was raining till 10:00am, according to media report.

People, especially, office goers of the private sectors faced sufferings due to heavy rain.

According to meteorological department, light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusts are likely to occur in some parts of Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barishal, Sylhet, Khulna and Chattogram divisions till this evening.

The weather forecast said the heatwave may decrease in Dhaka, Rajshahi and Khulna and Rangpur divisions.

River ports in Dhaka, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Bogura, Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chandpur, Cox’s Bazar, Mymensingh and Sylhet were asked to show signal number 1.
