UP member shot dead in Jashore

A local union parishad member was gunned down and his son was injured as miscreants attack on them in Abhaynagar upazila of Jashore on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Nur Ali Sheikh, 50, a member of Ward no 2 at Shuvradha union in the upazila.

Injured Ibrahim Sheikh was admitted to Khulna Phultala Health Complex with bullet wound.

According to local sources, the unidentified assailants shot Nur Ali Sheikh and his son Ibrahim indiscriminately while they were returning home on a motorcycle from Baburhat Bazar in Shuvradha Union around 9:00pm, leaving Nur dead on the spot and his son injured.

Abhaynagar police inspector Milon Kumar Mandal said, “The law enforcers visited the spot and started preliminary investigation.”
