Mother slaughters minor girl in Bhola

An 18-month-old minor girl was slaughtered by her mother at Cheuakhali village in Dhania union of Bhola Sadar upazila on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Taiba Islam Mawa, daughter of couple Tania and Sabuj, hailing from the area.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Bhola Sadar Model Police Station Enayet Hossain said victim’s mother Tania killed Mawa with a knife in her house at 9:00 am. Upon receiving the news, the police recovered the body from the spot and arrested Tania.

During the preliminary interrogation, Tania confessed to the murder. Police came to know from locals that the woman was mentally sick.

OC Enayet further said that the body was sent to Bhola Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Preparation is underway to file a murder case with Sadar Model Police Station.
