Abducted Jashore infant rescued after 3 days from Satkhira

Shawdesh desk; Police rescued a 24-day-old minor boy from Sonabari village in Kalaroa upazila of Satkhira on Saturday night, three days after he was abducted from Jashore.

The minor boy is identified as Tahsin, son of Ashraful Islam, hailing from Rudrapur village of Sharsha upazila.

Meanwhile, Sharsha police and Police Bureau of Investigation also arrested two people in this connection.
The arrested are Lutfar Ghazi Lutu, 55, son of Bacher Ghazi of village Sonabaria of Kalaroa upazila in Satkhira, and his daughter-in-law Salma Khatun, 23, wife of Milon Ghazi.

Sources said that 15 to 20 days back a woman came to Ashraful’s house pretending to be an NGO employee who was going to provide his wife with a pregnancy card.

On January 20, she took Tasin’s mother and grandfather along with the baby to Bagachra Bazar to give them Tk 30,000.

At some point, she took Tasin with her and fled the place.

After a complaint was lodged in this regard with Sharsha police station, the police started looking for the child from January 21.

Sharsha police officer-in-charge Badrul Alam said that the child was rescued and returned to his family through the Child Protection Act of the Department of Social Services.
A case under Human Trafficking Act was filed against the arrested and they were handed over to the PBI, he added.
