ACC interrogates Regent Group chief Shahed

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has started interrogating Regent Group chairman Mohammad Shahed in a case filed over embezzling money from Padma Bank, formerly known as Farmers Bank.

The anti-graft body took him on a 7-day remand on Monday morning.

ACC Deputy Assistant Director Mohammad Shahjahan Miraj (Investigating Officer) is interrogating Shahed at its’ headquarter in the capital.

 

Earlier on August 10, a Dhaka court granted a seven-day fresh remand for Shahed.

On July 27, the ACC has filed the case against four people including Regent Group Chairman Shahed Karim on allegations of embezzling Tk1 crore from Padma Bank Limited.

Others who are accused in the case are: Mahbubul Haque Chisty, former audit committee chairman of the Bank and his son Rashedul Haque Chisty, and Regent Hospital Ltd Managing Director Ibrahim Khalil.
