Eye witness of August 15 brutal killings Shahan Ara laid to eternal rest

Shahan Ara Abdullah, wife of Barishal-1 constituency MP Abul Hasnat Abdullah and mother of Barishal City Corporation Mayor Serniabat Sadiq Abdullah, was laid to eternal rest in Barishal on Monday morning.

Shahan Ara, an eyewitness of the brutal killings on August 15, 1975, was buried at Muslim Graveyard after his second namaz-e-janaza at 8:15am.

Before, she was given a guard of honour.

Earleir, her first janaza was held at BSMMU on Sunday night.

Shahan Ara Abdullah, a valiant freedom fighter, died at BSMMU in Dhaka last night at the age of 72.

The politician and cultural activist left behind her husband, three sons, a daughter and numerous well-wishers to mourn her death.

Shahan Ara was among those who survived the barbaric attacks by some disgruntled army officers on family and relatives of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
