Australia won their fifth T20 World Cup title as they hammered India by 85 runs in front of a packed crowd at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

It was their openers – Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney – who batted India out of the contest and propped up the side to 184 for 4 with their 115-run opening stand.

India failed to soak in the pressure of the occasion and faltered at crucial junctures and eventually failed to produce the performance when it mattered the most.
