A schoolgirl has reportedly been raped by a young man at Gourighona village in Keshabpur upazila of Jashore.

Abu Sayeed, officer-in-charge of Keshabpur Police Station, said victim’s elder sister filed a case against three people on Tuesday over the incident that took place on Monday.

According to the case statement, Rubel, son of Samsul Morol of the village, swooped on the house of the victim, a Class-VIII student, around 8pm on Monday and violated her.

Hearing her screams, locals rushed in and caught Rubel while trying to flee the scene.

Later, Rubel’s brother Abdul Khalek and two others went to the victim’s house and snatched him after a scuffle between the two families, leaving the victim’s father and sister injured.

Police sent the victim to Jashore Medical College Hospital for medical test.
