Dhaka University students demand to reduce government job applying fees

Shawdesh Desk: Hundreds of students of Dhaka University staged a demonstration at the premise of Raju Sclupture demanding reduced fee for applying in government jobs on Wednesday.

They propose to set Tk 200 for 9th grade job, 150 for 10th grade, 100 for 11th-14th grade and Tk 50 for 15-20th grade government jobs as applying fees.

They also informed that currently, the authorities take Tk 1000 for 9th grade, 500 for 10th grade and Tk 200 for 17-20th grade jobs’ applying fee.
A protesting student named Yamin from the department of Islamic Studies said, “Where the developed countries provide allowance for the unemployed, our country is charging extra-fees from the unemployed.”

“We don’t need unemployment allowance; we just need reduced fees in applying for government jobs,” he added.
