Shawdesh Desk: The High Court (HC) is likely to release the full text of its verdict that awarded death penalty to 139 out of 152 convicts in Pilkhana carnage case on Tuesday, according to media reports.

“Two Justices of a three-member larger bench of the HC have already signed the full text of the verdict after the bench completed writing the judgement of more than 29,000 pages,” Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin Manik confirmed this to media.

“The full text of HC verdict in Pilkhana carnage case will likely be released today after another Justice signs it,” he said.
On November 27, 2017, the HC announced the verdict in which it awarded death penalty to 139 of the 152 accused who were earlier sentenced to capital punishment by a lower court for their involvement in the massacre during the BDR mutiny.

Seventy-four people, including 57 army officials, were massacred during the BDR mutiny on February 25-26 in 2009 at the Pilkhana headquarters of the paramilitary force, later renamed Border Guard Bangladesh.
