The body of former mayor of undivided Dhaka City Corporation Sadeque Hossain Khoka laid to eternal rest at Jurain graveyard beside his father’s grave in the capital according according to his last wish on Thursday evening.

His body was brought back to the country this morning from USA.

The second namaz-e-janaza of Khoka was held at South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad at 11:15am.

Later, his body was kept at the Central Shaheed Minar so that people could pay their tribute to the freedom fighter.

His second namaj-e-janaza again was held in front of the BNP central office at Nayapaltan in the capital after johr prayer.

His third namaj-e-janaza was held at the Dhaka south city corporation head quarters at 3pm and thereafter his body will be taken to his Gopibag residence in old Dhaka.

His final namaj-e-janza was held at Dhupkhola field and then he was buried beside his parents’ grave at Jurain graveyard.

Earlier, the namaz-e-janaza of Sadeque Hossain Khoka was held at Jamaica Muslim Heights in USA.

Earlier on Monday, Sadeque Hossain Khoka, 67, died in USA. He had long been suffering from cancer. He had been undergoing treatment at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York since October 18 for cancer with some other health complications.

The former mayor left his wife Ismat Ara, daughter Sarika Sadeque, sons Ishraque, Isfaque Hossain and a host of relatives, followers and well-wishers to mourn his death.

Sadeque Hossain Khoka along with his wife went to the USA in 2014 for treatment while the validity of their passports expired in 2017.
