The national security adviser of the United States, Jake Sullivan, spoke to Bangladesh interim government chief Professor Muhammad Yunus on Monday.

Jake Sullivan thanked Professor Yunus for his leadership of Bangladesh during a challenging period, according to a White House release.

Both the leaders expressed their commitment to respecting and protecting the human rights of all people, regardless of religion.

Sullivan re-iterated the United States’ support for a prosperous, stable, and democratic Bangladesh.

He also offered the United States’ continued support in meeting the challenges Bangladesh faces.
