Police recovered the throat-slit bodies of a couple and their son from their flat in Savar’s Ashulia area on Saturday night.

The deceased were identified as Moktar Hossain, 50, his wife Shahida Begum, 40, and their son Mehedi Hasan, 12.

Police suspect that the victims might have been killed two to three days ago as their bodies were partially decomposed.

The couple was garment workers, and they were from village Lohagara of Thakurgaon’s Pirganj upazila, Zohab Ali, sub-inspector of Ashulia police station, said.

He said that the bodies were recovered from their fourth floor flat of a six-storey building in Jamgara Fakirbari Mor area at about 10:30pm.

Neighbors noticed odor was coming from the flat and knocked the door and then opened it only to find the bodies.

On information, police went to the spot and recovered the throat-slit bodies, the SI said.
