DNNC launches handwashing programme to check coronavirus infection

With a view to checking spread of coronavirus infection, the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has adopted handwashing programme for pedestrians at 25 spots in the city.

Newly-elected Mayor of DNCC Md Atiqul Islam and panel mayor Md Jamal Mostofa inaugurated the programme in front of the DNCC market at Gulshan-2 in the capital on Tuesday.

The spots include Uttara Rabindra Sharoni, Mirpur-10 (in front of Fire service office), Khilkhet bus stand, Mirpur-12,Mirpur-14 (in front of Mark medical), Mirpur-1 (in front of the Cooperative market), Gabtali cattle market, Shewrapara Bus Stand, Farmgate Ananda Cinema Hall, Mohammadpur Town Hall, Karwan Bazar (in front of kitchen market), Gulshan Police Plaza, Kakoli Bus Stand, Mohakhali DNCC Office( in front of the regional office).

The programme will extend further in more densely populated areas in the city, said sources.
