Saikat to officiate Australia-Windies matches

Bangladeshi umpire Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid Saikat will officiate matches in the upcoming bilateral series between Australia and West Indies in Australia later this month.

Australia will host West Indies for two Tests, three ODIs and as many T20Is as Saikat will be seen as both on-field umpire and TV umpire during the whole series.

This will be the first time the 47-year-old officiates a Test except Bangladesh as in the previous nine Tests he conducted, Bangladesh were involved in all these matches.

Saikat recently officiated five matches as an on-field umpire during the ICC World Cup in India and also received a big round of applause from the cricket fraternity.
