Shawdesh Desk: Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Thursday reiterated that the next general elections would be held on time according to the constitution.

He said, “Compromise basically means improvement of relationship. It is a strange fantasy that someone from India or the United States will put Awami League in power. The strength of Awami League is the people of the country.”

He made the statements while addressing the press in the secretariat this morning.

The government and the Awami League are ready to respond to any attempt to create unrest during the election, he added.
