The floating body of an employee of Khulna Government Women’s College was recovered from a pond on the college premises on Thursday night.

The deceased was Faruk Sohel, 30, a computer operator of the college.

Faruk lived on the college premises with his family.

Quoting family members, Fire Service and Civil Defence inspector Nurul Alam Raju said that the victim went to the pond to perform oju before Isha prayers and remained missing.

Later, divers conducted a rescue operation around 11:00pm and recovered the body of Faruk around 1:30am, he said adding he might have slipped into the pond and drowned.
