And if the moon is not seen tomorrow, Monday will be the 30th day of the month of Ramadan. In that case, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated next Tuesday (May 3) in the country.
Eid will be any day, it can be learnt tomorrow. The National Moon Sighting Committee will hold a meeting Sunday evening at the conference room of the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque to determine the date of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
According to a press release issued by the Islamic Foundation on Saturday, the meeting to be held on Sunday evening will be presided over by President of the National Moon Sighting Committee and State Minister for Religious Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan.
The meeting will review the information of the sighting of the moon in the month of Shawwal in the Arabic year of 1443 and fix the date for the celebration of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
If the moon of Shawwal month is seen anywhere in the sky of Bangladesh, the Islamic Foundation has requested countrymen to call 02-223381725, 02-41050912, 02-41050916 and 02-41050917 telephone numbers and send fax 02-223373397 and 02-9555951 or to contact Deputy Commissioner of the district concerned or Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO).
