A Dhaka court has issued arrest warrants against 10 people, including former managing director of NRB Global Bank Proshanta Kumar Halder, in a case filed over laundering Tk 80 crore to Canada and amassing about Tk 426 crore illegally.

Judge KM Emrul Kayesh of Metropolitan Senior Special Judge’s Court of Dhaka issued the arrest warrant on Sunday.

The nine others who face arrest warrants are PK Halder’s mother Lilabati Halder, his brother Pritish Kumar Halder, Purnima Rani Halder, Amitav Adhikari, Rajib Som, Subrata Das, Ananga Mohon Roy, Uttam Kumar Mistry, and Swapan Kumar Mistry.

The court also accepted the charges brought against them in the case.

The officers-in-charge of different police stations were asked to submit reports by May 25 on execution of the arrest warrants issued against the accused.

Anti-Corruption Commission filed the case on January 8, 2020 against PK Halder for allegedly acquiring illegal assets worth around Tk 275 crore.

On January 8, 2020, the ACC filed the case against PK Haldar for allegedly acquiring illegal assets worth around Tk 275 crore.
