Md Hadisur Rahman, who was killed on March 3 in a rocket attack on a Bangladeshi vessel stranded at a Ukrainian port, was laid to eternal rest in Barguna on Tuesday morning.

He was buried at his family graveyard in Kalatala village in Betagi upazila after his Namaz-e-janaza there at 10:00am.

Earlier on Monday noon, his body arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport carried by a Turkish Airlines flight Airport.

Hadisur is one of the 29 Bangladeshis who were stranded on the ship ‘Banglar Samriddhi’ owned by the Bangladesh Shipping Corporation.

The ship had been stranded at Olvia port in Ukraine since February 23, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

On March 3, the ship came under a rocket attack, but it could not be confirmed as of now who was behind the attack.
