Fifteen more persons died at the coronavirus unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) over 24 hours till 8:00am on Friday.

With this, the district’s Covid-19 and suspected death toll climbed to 157 since May 24.

Of the deceased, seven were Covid-19 positive and eight were suspected cases, Dr Saiful Ferdous, deputy director of RMCH, said.

Of the seven dead who tested positive for Covid-19, four were from Rajshahi, two from Chapainawabganj and one from Natore.

Among the eight suspected cases who died, four were from Rajshahi and four from Chapainawabganj.

A total of 43 people were admitted to the coronavirus unit of RMCH in the 24 hours till 8am today. Currently, 297 are being treated at the unit.

During the 24 hours till 8am this morning, 143 people tested positive out of 373 people who got tested for Covid-19 in Rajshahi. The current positive rate there is 38.34 percent.
