BNP’s protest rally today, venue shifted from Mohammadpur to Khilgaon

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will arrange a protest rally in Khilgaon Taltola of the capital today demanding neutral election and cancellation of Digital Security Act.

The protest rally will be started at 2pm.

The rally was scheduled to be held at Mohammadpur Shaheed Park but the party changed the venue as per the recommendation of DMP, party sources said.

 

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will attend the rally as the chief guest while the party’s Dhaka North City Corporation mayoral candidate Tabith Awal will chair the programme.

The party leaders claimed that the BNP got permission from police for holding the rally on the basis of 23 conditions.

Dhaka South City Corporation unit of BNP will arrange another protest rally in the capital on March 16 on the same issue.

Earlier, the party organised public rallies in Barishal on February 18, Khulna on February 27 and Rajshahi on March 1.

The party’s mayoral candidates of different metropolitan cities Mujibur Rahman Sarwar, Nazrul Islam Monju, Dr Shahadat Hossain, Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul, Ishraque Hossain and Tabith Awal attended the programmes.

Meanwhile, the BNP also made an announcement to hold a public rally at Suhrawardy Uddyan in the capital on March 30 marking the golden jubilee of the Independence of Bangladesh.

 

The party insiders said BNP leaders have been making hectic effort to show their organisational strength through holding the rallies across the country including in Dhaka.
