Imran Khan tweets Bangladeshi video to ‘expose crackdown on Indian Muslims’!

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was widely criticised after he shared a seven-year-old video of Bangladeshi incident on Twitter with a claim to ‘expose’ the ‘Indian police’s pogrom against Muslims in Uttar Pradesh” on Friday, reports India Today.

The video, tweeted by the Pakistan PM, contains Hefajat-e Islam’s demonstrations in May 2013 in Dhaka.

Soon after Imran Khan’s tweet, UP Police clarified the claim by pointing out that the incident of the video was from Bangladesh, not from India. UP Police also referred the original video saying it would help Imran Khan “be better informed”.
Amid the widespread criticism, Imran Khan deleted the tweet immediately after he realised his mistake.
