Shawdesh Desk:
Rail communications between Dhaka and the rest of Bangladesh were snapped since Tuesday morning as temporary workers of Bangladesh Railway demanding arrears and permanent jobs blocked the rail track in Tejgaon area in Dhaka.
Anowar Hossain, Dhaka railway station master, said that protesters blocked the rail track at about 10:45am in Tejgaon area in the city.
‘Since then, the train movement from and to the capital remained suspended,’ he said.
Few trains via the Padma Bridge rail track were running, he added.
Jainal Abedin, officer-in-charge of Dhaka railway police station, situated at Kamalapur, told New Age at about 12:30pm that the protesters were still blocking the track and they were present at the spot.
