Shawdesh Desk: Local Awami League (AL) leaders, workers and supporters brought out a jubilant procession in Khulna to thank Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her approval to establish a medical university after her name.

Khulna city corporation (KCC) mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque, chairman of Khulna Zilla Parishad Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid and front ranking Awami League leaders led the procession.

Carrying colorful banners, festoons and placards, the marchers chanted different slogans hailing the premier and paraded different thoroughfares of the city.
Jointly organised by Sadar and Sonadanga Thana unit Awami League, the jubilant procession congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her approval to establish the medical university after her name.

Later, a discussion meeting was held at the party office.

Sadar thana Awami League president advocate Saiful Islam chaired the meeting while city unit Awami League President and KCC Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque addressed as chief guest.

The meeting also hailed the prime minister and her government for taking necessary steps to set up the “Sheikh Hasina Public University”.
