A group of students under the banner of “Technical Student Movement” on Monday blocked the roads at the Satrasta area in Tejgaon Industrial Area, to press home six-point demands, causing severe traffic jams on various streets.

Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Gazi Shamimur Rahman said that the students blocked the road around 12:00 pm. Due to the blockade, traffic on both sides of the road came to a standstill. The authorities are trying to negotiate with the protesters to clear the road.

As a result of the road blockade, the road from Farmgate through Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue to Shahbagh was almost completely paralyzed by traffic. Google Maps showed the entire stretch in red, indicating heavy traffic congestion.

Additionally, roads around Manik Mia Avenue, Moghbazar, Eskaton, and Hatirjheel are also shown in red, signaling severe traffic jams in these areas.
