Finance minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali on Thursday increased supplementary duty or VAT on ice cream, carbonated beverage, cigarette, bidi, SIM card, mango bar, mango juice, pineapple juice, guava juice, tamarind juice, energy saving bulbs, tube light, amusement park and theme Park, mechanical laundry, security service, lottery ticket, non-machine-made normal bricks.

The finance minister also withdrew VAT exemption upon Tour Operator service.
