Mati Lal Deb Roy: It is my honor to write an article on one of the greatest leader of the century, “Bill De Blasio” a leader who made New York City a diversified place to live. Bill earned immeasurable kindness and faith among the people of different ethnicity and religion. New York City recognized as a diversified city where people  from different part of the globe with 70 different languages, culture, religion and race are living together. The number of immigrant community are increasing in New York City day by day and making the city more resourceful to attract world visitors.

Blassio several initiatives provided NYC residents blissful and adequate level of comfort lifestyle which includes housing, Healthcare and education and due to these programs families from lower class to middle class are leading content lifestyle. Blassio Immigration programs are helping all different communities to build and empower them. Blassio has always been so vocal about Immigrants right and this is why he is working so hard to build them for their own advancement. In fact, it has been seen that Bengali Communities are playing an active role in Blasio Immigration Affair program to promote their language and culture.

Bill de Blassio was born to  Warren Wilhelm Jr.on May 08, 1961in New York City.His father a World War 11 veteran who struggled with cancer, left family when Bill was 7 years old, Bill was raised by his mother in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and therefore took his mother maiden name, de Blassio in 2002.De Blasio was schooled at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. He received his undergraduate Degree from New York University, where he was a student activist who protested tuition hikes .De Blasio received  his master’s degree  from Columbia University’ school of international and Public affairs .Mayor Bill De Blasio married poet Chirlane McCray in 1994. They met while working for Mayor Dinkins’ administration.

Bill is a liberal democrat best known for being elected mayor of New York City in 2013.On September 15, 2009, Bill D. Blasio won the Democratic primary, garnering 33 percent vote.

Blassio has accomplished many initiatives which includes Universal Pre-K for every four-year-Old kids which provides all kids of New York City right to go to a great school. He has made remarkable investment in early childhood education, approximately 70,000 four-year-old are in free, full-day, high-quality pre-K .Mayor De Blasio plans to bring universal, full-day early childhood education to every three year-old in New York City—the most ambitious early childhood learning effort in the country. This program will provide 1.1 million of NYC public school students basics of computer science, such as coding, robotics and web design within the next 10 years. Each of these students will take computer science education in primary, middle, and high school, preparing them for the 21st century economy. A new initiative launched by the city by the initiative of Blassio allows all students enrolled in public schools access to free lunches. With the start of the new school year, it is critical to give all students the same opportunities in the biggest school district in the country, with over 1.1 million students, the new program would help countless students. The Mayor is working tirelessly to ensure that no student in New York goes hungry and illiterate. The Mayor added 69 new community schools this year to serve more than 108,000 students. There are now 215 community schools citywide, providing additional family support, health and mental health services, and additional focus on social-emotional development.

 He is not limited to children education only, In fact, he is working on low skilled people by providing them training to utilize their training skills to job sector which will help to increase the employment for the age group between 55 years and above adult.  He advocated for the Rent Act of 2015 which created an unprecedented rent-freeze citywide for rent-stabilized apartments. He proposed and placed a multi-year plan to boost the distribution of affordable housing in the city with the approval of the City Council in early 2016. His plan would allow Housing developers to gain favorable zoning ordinances and build taller buildings in exchange for constructing affordable units. During his tenure as a Mayor he passed many bill for the greater interest of new York Community such as a bill aiming to make New York City  air free from smoke banning of smoking cigarette in Park of New York City and in  restaurant. He is also and planning to encourage the home owner liable to stop smoking in their building. He has been trying to Ban all type of unhealthy cold drink for the interest of public health as most of cold drinks contains sugar, alcohol and other harmful chemicals which cause disease like cancer, diabetic and many deadly disease.

He was again voted to be the Mayor of the City in November 07, 2017 election. His hopes and aspiration are helping people to overcome from their miseries. He is a diversified New York leader, who will go to any extent to protect his people and city and I am sure People of New York City will remember him for life long for his endless effort to make New York a happy and wealthy place to live.
