Hasan stars as Bangladesh bowl out Ireland for 101

Sports Desk:

Youngster Hasan Mahmud finished with his career best bowling as Bangladesh bowled out Ireland for just 101 runs in their third and final one-day international at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

With Hasan claiming 5-32 and Taskin Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain taking three and two wickets, respectively, the home side crushed the tourists to their fifth-lowest total in just 28.1 overs.

This was the first time in the history of Bangladesh cricket that all 10 wickets were claimed by the pacers.

Earlier, the Irish side saw their lowest 77 against Sri Lanka and 91, 96 and 100 against Australia, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, respectively.

Although the visitors made a cautious start, amassing 8 in three overs in the overcast condition, opting to bat first, they couldn’t continue the momentum after Mahmud struck in the next over, removing the opener Stephen Doheny.

Then in the ninth over, he trapped Paul Stirling leg-before, followed by Harry Tector in the same over, that shortened the tourists to 22-3 in 8.4 overs.

His other two wickets came when he dismissed Curtis Campher after he hit highest 36 for the side, followed by Graham Hume for three.
