In a major shift, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has decided to hold meeting with political parties, especially likeminded to discuss the country’s latest political situation.
A source at the BNP disclosed the information on Tuesday.
President Abdul Hamid has been continuing dialogue with registered political parties over the formation of the next regulating body of the Election Commotion since December 20 but BNP boycotted it.
Earlier, the policymakers of BNP held a series of meetings with the central leaders of the party and associate bodies to work out the party’s next course of action over the next general election and anti-government movement.
Meanwhile, BNP is demanding the government’s permission to send party chairperson Khaleda Zia abroad for better treatment. As the government says the petition filed by Khaleda Zia’s brother in this regard is not covered by law, BNP is mulling some sort of political pressure.
