The Bangladesh has faced a little bit rise in daily coronavirus infection death while the number of infection cases declined a little bit in the last 24 hours till Thursday morning.
According to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 9 Covid-19 patients died and 237 infection cases were recorded in the last 24 hours till Thursday morning.
Earlier, 3 Covid-19 patients died and 312 infection cases were reported on Wednesday, 3 deaths and 284 cases were reported on Tuesday, 2 deaths and 264 cases on Monday, 7deaths and 199 cases on Sunday, zero death and 178 cases on Saturday, 7 death and 253 infection cases were reported on Friday.
The daily corona infection rate has remained below 2 percent for the last several weeks. Some 1.25% infection rate was reported on Thursday. It was 1.49% on Wednesday. It was 1.45% on Tuesday, 1.42% on Monday, 1.16% on Sunday, 1.18% on Saturday and 1.40% on Friday.
For the 52nd consecutive days, the country reported daily positivity rate below 3%. The infection rate was below 4% for 59 days in a row and below 5% for the last 68 consecutive days.
The number of daily cases was reported below 500 for the last 43 days in a row.
The number of total infections has risen to 15,75,185 with the overall positivity rate 14.58%. Some 18,888 samples were tested in the last 24 hours to detect the infection cases.
The national death toll has increased to 27,970 with a case fatality rate of 1.78 percent. The number of death remains below 10 for the last 39 consecutive days.
At the same time, the recovery rate continued to improve in the country reaching 97.74 percent with the recuperation of a good number of Covid-19 patients every day.
Some 360 more Covid-19 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours till Thursday morning, raising the total number of recoveries to 15,39,553.
The country’s maiden cases were reported on 8 March last year and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.
