Shawdesh Desk:The police have submitted a charge sheet against a student of Khilgaon Model School and College in the capital in a case filed in connection with the killing of a cat.

Investigation officer of the case Mugda police station Sub-inspector (SI) Nayan Debnath submitted the charge sheet to the court in recent times.

The court set July 9 for accepting the charge sheet.
It has been mentioned in the case that the girl named Ishrat Jahan Mehjabin, an 11th-grader of the college, killed a kitten on March 21 and uploaded video footage of the killing on Facebook.

The video spread like wildfire through social media overnight.

The video was watched by Zahid Hossain, general secretary of Care for Paws – an organisation for welfare of animals.

Later, Zahid filed a case against the student under the Cruelty to Animals Act with Mugda police station
