Bangladesh reported 173 more deaths linked to Covid-19 in 24 hours until Wednesday morning.

The virus also infected 7,614 others during the period as countrymen are observing Eid-ul-Azha with the lockdown rules relaxed.

With the fresh figures, the total caseload from Covid stands at 1,136,503 while the death toll rose to 18,498, according to a handout issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Bangladesh reported its highest daily Covid-19 fatality of 231 on Monday.
