State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak said the advanced technology has been being used extensively during Covid-19 as the increasing usages of the technology are playing a pivotal role in expediting global changes including economic activities.
“The country will lag behind if we can’t keep pace with the increasingly changing world triggered by the intensive use of technology amid coronavirus situation,” he said while inaugurating “Advanced Certification for Management Professionals (ACMP) 4.0 Summer 2020” training course through zoom online jointly organized by LICT project and Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of University of Dhaka.
Chaired by IBA Director Professor Dr. Ferhat Anwar, the function was addressed, among others, by Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Executive Director Partha pratim Deb, LICT Project Director Md Rezaul Karim and IT-ITES Policy Adviser Sami Ahmed, MDP Coordinator of IBA Sutapa Bhattacjarjee, Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) President Syed Almas Kabir as well as Bangladesh Association of Call Center & Outsourcing (BACCO) President Wahid Sharif.
IBA Professor Sheikh Morshed Jahan presented a power point highlighting the overall activities of the Middle Management training (ACMP 4.0).
Mentioning the usages of technology during Covid-19, Palak said the use of internet has increased to 50 percent, online marketing to 50% and number of opening of mobile account to 50 lakhs. “This is glaring example of keeping the economic activities operative during coronavirus situation,” he added.
The state minister said the advanced technologies like robot, machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics will be driving force in the days to come and that’s why everyone should have some knowledge about the cutting-edge technology.
He thanked the ICT division’s LICT project and IBA for conducting the ACMP 4.0 training course like a virtual university and called upon the management professionals of IT-ITES industry to contribute to economic activities taking time-befitting training.
The Leveraging ICT for Employment and Growth of the IT-ITES Industry (LICT) Project has been providing support to IBA to conduct 12-week long training of 240 mid-level managers of 115 IT-ITES companies on contemporary business management thoughts and practices under ACMP 4.0.
The training will cover the areas including project management 4.0, business communication 4.0, analytics and business research 4.0, marketing 4.0, human resources management 4.0, finance 4.0, supply chain 4.0, technology 4.0, business Strategy 4.0.
Earlier, the ACMP training course was introduced by IBA in collaboration with LICT project in October 2017 and some 636 mid-level and senior professionals of different IT companies received training then.
