Shawdesh DEsk: A case has been filed against some unidentified persons for allegedly raping a Dhaka University student in the city’s Kurmitola area on Sunday night.

Victim’s father filed the case with Cantonment Police Station on Monday morning.

Earlier, a Dhaka University (DU) student was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Sunday night after allegedly been raped.
The girl was admitted to the hospital early hour on Monday (1:00 am Sunday night), inspector Bachchu Mia, In-charge of DMCH police outpost, said.

According to a source who talked to the victim at the hospital, the girl, a second year residential student of Ruqayyah Hall of DU, took the varsity’s student bus ‘Khanika’ at around 5:30 pm to go to a classmate’s house in Shewrapara area for taking exam preparation. She got down from the BRTC’s double-darker bus at Kurmitola bus stop at around 7:00 pm.

As she got off the bus at the Kurmitola area, some unidentified men held her mouth and she got unconscious. Later she was raped and tortured. She got conscious around 10:00 pm finding herself at a lonely place.

Taking a CNG driven three-wheeler, the girl went to her friend’s house and told her about the incident.

Being informed, her classmates took the victim to the DU campus and then admitted her to DMCH after Sunday midnight.

The victim was taken to One-stop Crisis Centre (OCC) of DMCH and Medical examination of will be conducted on Monday morning, Bacchu Mia told the daily sun.
However, DU proctor Golam Rabbani along with some teachers rushed to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital. They visited the victim and also talk to her about the incident
