The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday approved a chargesheet against 11 people, including former Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, for their reported embezzlement of Tk 4 crore.
Confirming the decision taken at a meeting of the anti-graft body, ACC’s public relation officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said the former chief justice was cleared in one case but included in the chargesheet of another which will be submitted to court soon.
The ACC also decided to file a case against former minister from BNP, Barrister Nazmul Huda, for failing to provide evidence for the graft case against SK Sinha.
On July 10, the ACC filed a case against 11 people, including the ex-chief justice and former Farmers Bank managing director and CEO AKM Shameem accusing them of accumulating illegal wealth and plundering Tk 4 crore by abusing power.
